Safety Rules
Club members wanting to use the Port Stephens Archers (PSA) club practice range on non club shooting days must complete the following 3 things:
1, Be a current PSA club member
2, Read and abide by the following rules
3, Submit the online form prior to use.
Non PSA club members may use the practice range under supervision on club shoot days after signing the club shoot day register.
NO broadheads or anything other than field points on arrows to be used. Due to the damage they cause to the bags.
Practice range may only be used during daylight hours. 1hr after sunrise till 1hr before sunset.
Shooting must cease immediately if a person or an animal crosses the shooting range or moves behind the target butts. Shooting may not recommence until all persons or animals have reached a safe area.
Covered footwear must be worn at all times whilst on the range. Sandals or open toed shoes are not permitted.
Alcohol and recreational drugs must not be consumed by anyone prior to or while shooting. No person may shoot when under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Headphones or ear buds must not be worn while shooting or on the range.
Bows must never be drawn back with an arrow knocked unless the bow is pointed toward the
targets and the range is clear of people.
The practice of drawing a bow or adopting a shooting technique that allows the bow to be drawn back and raised higher than 20 degrees above level ground is considered to be unsafe and must not be used.
Never aim a bow, loaded or otherwise, at another person.
Never run on the range - walking pace only.
Persons under 8 years (Cubs) are not to carry arrows, a responsible adult must carry arrows for them.
Courtesy and respect must be shown to our neighbors, no loud noise or poor behavior.
